Provider Spotlight: Rachel Snitowsky LCSW
Rachel Snitowsky LCSW
Rachel is another valued member of our community! I love that she brings this perspective and knowledge of diversity and inclusion to our group! It is such an important topic, and we are so grateful to have someone who really pours this into her work in our community. She also works with ketamine and psychedelic mushrooms, as do many of our providers! Read along to find out more about her.
Cole: Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Rachel: I am a playful and warm-hearted therapist. Authenticity is my love language! As your therapist, I will provide honest & direct feedback, always coupled with kindness and support. I value humor & deep connections. I prefer to be active & dynamic during our sessions, rather than just a passive listener. I have tattoos. Colorful language is welcome in my room. And I love a good meme. I am a mixed-race, queer, neurodivergent woman. I am particularly dedicated to supporting neurodivergent, queer and trans individuals / couples on their journey towards healing and self-discovery. I truly love and honor being a safe space for others.
Cole: Tell us a little bit about how you practice. What are your specialities, if any? What clients do you love to work with?
Rachel: I can help with: self-esteem, gender identity, sex and sexuality, religious trauma, communication and boundaries, self discovery, grief and loss of all kinds, divorce, ENM, infidelity, infertility, body image, pre-marital, stress, and healthy relationships. I love working with psilocybin mushrooms and ketamine for psychedelic assisted therapy.
Cole: Why did you decide to get into the work that you do now?
Rachel: I come from a family of therapists and have always been interested in psychology and helping others. I myself am queer and mixed race so I love helping people in these populations especially. I also have a soft spot in my heart for relationship work, boudaries, grief, gender and sexuality, and anxiety. Psychedelic medicines have changed my life for the better and I am blown away by their healing properties and am so excited to bring these gifts into the lives of others so they can heal as I have.
Cole: What are some of the biggest challenges facing mental health providers today, in your opinion?
Rachel: It can be so hard to find the right person! It often feels like dating. But when it clicks, it is SO good. Keep trying to find your person. And if that person is me, I would be so honored to be a part of your healing journey!
Cole: Where do you see the future of mental health care going?
Rachel: I think the future of mental health is headed toward being more appreciative of neurodivergent people, queer people, and will involve more and more psychedelics.
Cole: What’s one thing you recommend that all your clients do to see lasting impact in their lives?
Rachel: Be bold and be yourself. Set those boundaries. Know who you are and own it. It can be so scary but it will be so worth it to set yourself free in this way.
Cole: Where can people find you?
Rachel: ConnectedWellness.Club is my website and my instagram handle! I would love to connect <3
