Provider Spotlight: Allie Quade, MA, LPC, LAC
Allie Quade, MA, LPC, LAC
Allie is a good friend of ours, and one of the founding members of the ICC! She helped train me (Cole) in Ketamine-Assisted Therapy a couple of years ago. She has been practicing therapy in the Northern Colorado area for a while, and we are so glad to have her experience and her presence in the group!
Cole: Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Allie: I am a psychotherapist in private practice. I have been practicing for a little over 10 years. I have worked in a variety of settings from schools, hospitals, addiction recovery centers, group therapy, group practices, and now solo private practice. I grew up in the New England area and moved to Colorado in 2010. Some of my hobbies include skiing, paddle boarding, playing ukulele, and crafting. I am a partner, mom and have two labs.
Cole: Tell us a little bit about how you practice. What are your specialities, if any? What clients do you love to work with?
Allie: I work with adults and specialize in supporting people with trauma, addiction, codependency, relational trauma and psychedelic therapy. Many of my clients have loved ones or past partners who struggle with addiction or personality disorders and I aim to support my clients with boundaries and awareness of caretaking tendencies with their loved ones. I incorporate EMDR, attachment theory, somatic approaches, mindfulness and CBT depending on the nature of the issue and specific need of the client.
Cole: Why did you decide to get into the work that you do now?
Allie: Many of the issues I treat are often co-occurring and I find that having knowledge and training in the areas that overlap has been helpful.
Cole: What are some of the biggest challenges facing mental health providers today, in your opinion?
Allie: I think isolation in private practice, as well as being able to have a consistent caseload and steady income is a challenge for many people starting out, but building a good community of other therapists seems to help.
Cole: Where do you see the future of mental health care going?
Allie: I hope its not in the direction of AI but if it is then hopefully its to get people referred to actual humans. I also see psychedelic medicine continue to flourish and grow as a field.
Cole: What’s one thing you recommend that all your clients do to see lasting impact in their lives?
Allie: Meditation and journaling
Cole: Where can people find you?
